The National Weather Service has released snowfall totals for the DMV in this week's storm. A Maryland police department is mourning the loss of a longtime brother in blue. Daniel Stickney Jr., who spent the last 15 years working for the Rising Sun Police Department in Maryland, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 10, according to a GoFundMe campaign for his family and his obituary. The National Weather Service has confirmed that the wicked weather over the weekend produced a small tornado that was reported in northern Maryland. An “EF1” tornado with winds peaking around 90 mph touched down in Cecil County just east of Rising Sun between 6:35 p.m. and 6:41 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 after forming as a result of a cluster of thunderstorms that rolled through the region. One driver was killed and another was hurt following a Tuesday, July 19 wrong-way crash on the Route 1 bypass in East Nottingham Township, authorities confirmed. A 33-year-old Pennsylvania driver was traveling in the northbound lanes between SR472 and SR272 when a 25-year-old wrong-way driver from Maryland struck her vehicle head-on around 5:40 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police said.
