A mild January has paved the way for a cold start to February. A "quick but intense" burst of Arctic air is headed to the Northeast, meteorologists at AccuWeather.com say. Just as a complex system that brought a mix of rain and sleet, and as much as a foot of snow or more in some spots moves east, the first projected snowfall totals have been released for a second storm on track for the Northeast midweek. Back-to-back storms will sweep through the region in the span of days, bringing separate rounds of rain, sleet, and snow.
