Investigators say the suspect shot 46-year-old Ronald Carroll on Aug. 18 in the 1900 block of East North Avenue. Carroll succumbed to his injuries days later on Aug. 22 while hospitalized.

After a months-long investigation, Eastern District Action Team officers apprehended the teen suspect on Nov. 18 around 11:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Collington Avenue. He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation began when Eastern District patrol officers responded to a Shot Spotter alert in the 1900 block of East North Avenue shortly after midnight on Aug. 22. Officers found Carroll suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to contact homicide detectives at 410-396-2100 or submit tips anonymously through Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
