Virginia roads turned deadly over the Fourth of July weekend as 15 people were killed in 14 separate crashes between Thursday, July 2, and Sunday, July 5, according to preliminary data released Tuesday by Virginia State Police.
The fatal crashes happened in Alleghany, Appomattox, Brunswick, Fauquier, Frederick, Nottoway, Pulaski, Roanoke, Shenandoah, Smyth, Spotsylvania, and Suffolk counties, as well as the City of Danville.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a home in the 43000 block of Helmsdale Terrace in Chantilly around 1:52 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, after receiving reports of a shooting inside the residence.
