Nina Daig, 25, of Beaverdam in Virginia, stunned the judges on American Idol after performing a heartfelt original song called “Average Joe” — a tribute to her older brother, Joey, who was born with brain damage and has been her lifelong inspiration.
“Sweaty, but great,” Daig joked before stepping into the audition. “You’re the first person I’ve sung in front of,” she added, stunning the judges.

A Maryland mother of two who was brutally killed by her estranged husband is being remembered as a “lovely soul” as her grieving family fights to give her a proper farewell.
LeNaiya Donaldson, 33, was fatally stabbed inside her Oxon Hill apartment on Saturday, March 15, by her husband, Kenton Donaldson, who later called 911 to confess before fleeing to Virginia, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Plane Crash Kills 12, Including Beloved 39-Year-Old Musician
A popular musician was among a dozen people killed when a plane crashed moments after taking off.
The incident happened off the Caribbean island of Roatán, north of the Honduran coast, on Monday, March 17.
Honduran musician Aurelio Martinez, age 39, was among the victims.
Five people survived, according to the Honduras National Police.
