Two people were killed and four others seriously injured when an SUV slammed into a tree on the New Jersey Turnpike overnight, authorities said.
The crash happened at 1:06 a.m. in the northbound lanes near milepost 13.6 on Sunday, May 18, in Harrison Township, Gloucester County, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

Three suspects have been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Maryland, police announced.
Darrell Williams, 34, Zion Wimbish, 19, and Ra'Shawn Smith, 19, were arrested by Baltimore Police for the May 7 murder of John Lewis, a 15-year-old boy who was found shot in the city’s Eastern District.
The shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, near the 3500 block of Brehms Lane, according to police.
Eastern District officers were already responding to a separate call when they heard gunfire in the area.

2 Killed After Being Struck By Train In Maryland, Officials Confirm
Two people were struck and killed by a MARC commuter train on Tuesday evening, May 6, in Maryland, officials confirmed.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m., when MARC Train 875, traveling westbound from Washington, D.C. to Martinsburg, hit two individuals who were walking on the tracks east of the Harpers Ferry station in Sandy Hook, according to Veronica Battisti, Senior Director of Communications and Marketing for the MTA.
“Fatalities are confirmed for both individuals,” Battisti said.

A 28-year-old man has died and four others were hurt following a shooting inside a Maryland hookah lounge, police confirmed.
Officers responded to the 1800 block of Woodlawn Drive in Baltimore County shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, for reports of a shooting, according to Baltimore County Police.
Inside the Azuz Hookah Lounge, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Three additional victims later showed up at area hospitals — two of whom also had gunshot wounds, police said.
