The crash was reported on southbound Routes 1&9/Tonnelle Avenue north of Secaucus Road at 6:28 p.m., according to a traffic alert on the DOT site. One of the roadway's two southbound lanes was closed following the crash, the alert said. Major backups were reported in the area, with police at the scene as of 6:43 p.m. Additional details about the crash and the extent of the injuries were not immediately available.
