AmesburyTruth recalled about 200,000 Ashland-brand casement window hinge tracks, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, April 3. The recall was issued because of a faulty hinge track on the windows installed in homes and commercial buildings.

The CPSC has received two reports of window sashes falling when a metal sliding arm detached from the hinge track. No injuries have been reported, but the CPSC warned that the issue poses a serious injury risk.

The recalled parts — used to crank open and close windows — were sold between April 2024 and January 2025 to window manufacturers and service providers nationwide. The hinges were made in Mexico and sold for about $2 each.

The recall includes 10-inch and 14-inch two-bar hinge tracks marked "R10," "L10," "R14," or "L14." The affected part numbers are 2003558, 2003559, 2004271, and 2004272.

Consumers should leave affected windows closed and locked. They should also contact AmesburyTruth for a free inspection and replacement by a professional.
