Anker Recalls 1.158M PowerCore 10000 Power Banks, Cpsc Says
More than a million portable phone chargers are being recalled after dozens of reports involving battery fires, burn injuries, and thousands in property damage.
Anker issued the recall for about 1,158,000 Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, June 12. The issue stems from the lithium-ion batteries inside the chargers, which can overheat and catch fire.
Anker has received 19 reports of fires and explosions. Two people suffered minor burns, and there were 11 cases of property damage worth more than $60,700, the CPSC said.

Yamaha is expanding its recall of golf car vehicles after the accelerator pedal spring assembly was found to pose a crash hazard.
The recall now affects about 352,000 vehicles, including models sold nationwide between July 2015 and December 2024, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, June 5. The golf cars were sold for between $5,970 and $13,220.

Igloo Expands Massive Recall To Nearly 1.2M Roller Coolers
Igloo has expanded a major recall after dozens of new reports of severe fingertip injuries tied to its rolling coolers.
Igloo Products Corp. is recalling about 130,000 more coolers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, May 8. The latest recall brings the total number of affected coolers to nearly 1.2 million.
The first recall was issued for 1,060,000 Igloo coolers back in February. In total, the company has received 78 injury reports, 26 of which involved fingertip amputations, bone fractures, or deep cuts, according to the CPSC.
