Maryland Man Admits To Advertising Dogfights On The Internet To Further 'DMV Board' Conspiracy
Two more men from the region have pleaded guilty to their roles in a violent local dogfighting ring that operated throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, federal authorities announced.
Derek Garcia, 41, of Woodbridge, Virginia, pleaded guilty to conspiring to engage in dog fighting, and Camp Springs, Maryland resident Ricardo Thorne, 52, admitted to advertising the fights on the Internet to turn a profit, according to federal prosecutors.
