Members Of Congress Arrested During Protest That Stopped Traffic In DC A protest demonstration that stopped traffic on a Washington D.C. street resulted in the arrest of 35 people, including 17 Members of Congress, authorities say. Demonstrators began blocking traffic on First Street NE shortly after 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, according to US Capitol Police.
