US Capitol Police Officer Busted With Child Porn: Police
A 42-year-old US Capitol Police officer from Maryland was arrested after being found in possession of child porn, authorities said. Jared Michael Lemon, 42, of Owings, became the center of an investigation in December 2022, when troopers from the Maryland State Police Prince Frederick Barrack opened an investigation into the possession of child pornography, Maryland State Police said. Man Busted With Faux Oxy Manufactured With Fentanyl In Maryland Gets Prison Without Parole
A Maryland man will spend years behind bars without the possibility of parole following his sentencing for possession of fentanyl in large quantities, officials announced. Owings resident Harold Bernard Gross pleaded guilty in Calvert County Circuit Court to possession of fentanyl in large volume and received a mandatory prison sentence of five years, according to the sheriff’s office. Oil Spill Leads To Detour Around Busy Calvert County Intersection
An oil spill in Maryland temporarily tied up traffic to allow crews to clean up a busy roadway. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office announced that at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, June 24, fire crews responded to a reported oil spill near the intersection of Route 4 and Skinners Turn Road in Owings. It is unclear what caused the oil spill. No crashes or injuries were initially reported while firefighters cleared the area. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said that police also responded to the scene to help direct traffic until the scene is clear.
