Beltsville resident Brian Patrick Werth, 40, has been sentenced to 37 years in prison after being convicted by a jury at a three-day trial for producing child sexual abuse material. A split verdict was reached in the trial of a former manager for the Maryland Park Service who was accused of sexual abuse late last year. Michael Browning, 72, was found guilty of a single misdemeanor fourth-degree sex offense, though he was found not guilty of several other charges, including felony rape. A registered sex offender is facing new charges after attempting to solicit sex from an undercover Maryland State Police trooper who was posing as a child over a smartphone app in Harford County, authorities announced.
