Parking Bans In Effect For Central, Western Mass Cities, Towns
As much as 2 feet of snow fell overnight Monday, March 13, through Tuesday morning, leaving some roads impassable and knocking out power to thousands. Because of the nor'easter's damage, several cities and towns in Central and Western Massachusetts have implemented parking bans. Editor's Note: This list will be continually updated. Three Hospitalized After Head-On Massachusetts Crash During Storm
Three people received minor injuries during a head-on crash during a snowstorm in Western Massachusetts. The crash took place in Hampden County around 9:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 7, near the intersection of Converse Street and Rugby Road in Longmeadow. When police arrived on the scene they found one of the vehicles on fire, but an officer was able to extinguish the flames, according to Longmeadow Police. Three people were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Man Dies Attempting To Rev His Way Out Of A Snowbank
A New Jersey man has died after attempts to drive his car out of a snowbank proved fatal. On Wednesday, Feb. 3, Little Ferry Police responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in the snow around 9 a.m. near Mehrof Road. Though it could not be seen through the piles of snow the car, a four-door Mazda SUV hatchback had driven up on a parking divider with part of the car on the grass, according to NBC News. The chances have increased for a potentially major snowstorm that will end the month of January and usher in February, bringing a half-foot or more of accumulation. The storm moving west to east is expected to arrive on Sunday, Jan. 31, and linger into Tuesday, Feb. 2. (See the first image above.) Storm: Snowfall Could Add Up To 20 Inches In Parts Of Central Mass
Meteorologists have increased the total snowfall forecast as a slow-moving storm is expected to reach Central Massachusetts this evening, Wednesday, Dec. 16. The National Weather Service says areas of Central and Western Massachusetts, as well as the Berkshires, may see up to 20 inches of snow accumulation in some places. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-20s.
