A community in North Central Massachusetts is doing the unbearable task of saying goodbye to one of their most vibrant members. Jenny "Benny" Marques, of Pepperell, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 11, according to her obituary. "The adored daughter of Richard 'Rickie' and Eileen Marques," Jenny would have turned 16 on June 27. What We Know About Cape Cod Mother Allegedly Killed By Son Who Later Died
Details have emerged about a son who allegedly killed his mother on Cape Cod as well as her life and the complex relationship between the two. Adam Howe, age 34, suffered a medical emergency and died in his cell at Ashe Street Jail in New Bedford on the night of Sunday, Oct. 2, according to the Bristol County Sheriff's Office. Howe was in jail for allegedly killing his mother, Susan Howe, by setting her on fire outside their Truro home two nights before, authorities said. Holyoke Mayor Morse Will Not Seek Re-Election Next Year
Holyoke’s mayor for the last 10 years said he will not run for re-election. On Tuesday, Dec. 1, around 10 a.m., Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse said in a statement that he will not run for re-election next year because of a campaign promise he made, when he was first elected, to serve no more than 10 years in the role. “Democracy works best when we create space for more voices and perspectives to influence the public sphere,” Morse said. “So, with a municipal election year almost upon us, I feel it’s important to let you know that I will not be seeking re-election.” Morse was elected mayor at age…

Memorial For Police Officer Slain During Traffic Stop Unveiled
A police officer who was killed during a traffic stop is being honored with the dedication of a memorial park. The town of Leicester celebrated the new Tarentino Memorial Park and basketball court on Saturday, Aug. 15, in memory of Ronald Tarentino Jr. Tarentino had been a police officer on both the Leicester and Auburn police departments. He also played in the Leicester Basketball League.
