'Varsity Blues' Head, Who Helped Wealthy Kids Cheat Into Elite Schools, Gets 3 1/2 Years: Feds Rick Singer, the mastermind behind the scheme to help wealthy parents and celebrities cheat their way into elite and Ivy League universities, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison on Wednesday, Jan. 4, the Department of Justice announced.  Singer was convicted on bribery charges after a court determined he accepted large cash payments to help cheat standardized tests and bribe coaches who could offer scholarships to kids at some of the nation's top schools.  #BREAKING Rick Singer, orchestrator of the college admissions scam - a nationwide conspiracy that facilitated cheating…
