A Worcester man was arrested threatening to attack his neighbors with a machete after getting into an argument with them, authorities said.

Joseph Johnston, age 34, threatened to pull the weapon out during an argument that occurred at a home on Fourth Street around 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, Worcester Police said on Facebook

Two residents told police Johnston also threatened to pull a gun out and shoot them. After hearing a loud bang similar to a gunshot coming from Johnston's home, police located him and took him into custody.

While no injuries were reported, officers did uncover a large capacity feeding device and fully loaded magazine. Johnston is facing several charges including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card and Threat to Commit a Crime, police said.
