Noel Gonzalez faces several charges following his arrest on Wednesday night, Feb. 22, Worcester police said.
Neighborhood Respond Team officers said they spotted Gonzalez making what appeared to be a drug deal in the 800 block of Main Street around 10 p.m. They stopped the suspected buyer, who had fentanyl and crack in his pockets, officials said. They did not release the man's name.
Officers tried to stop Gonzalez, but he ran instead and led them to his apartment at 361 Cambridge St, authorities said. Gonzalez threw a container at one of the officers, which hit them in the chest, as he ran away.
Police found a "pile" of marijuana near packaging material in plain view inside the home, but he wasn't inside, authorities said. Officers canvassed the area and eventually found Gonzalez hiding in a closet two houses down from his second-floor apartment, officers said.
Police picked up the container he had thrown at them and found baggies filled with crack and fentanyl inside, authorities said. They also found 200 grams of crack, 100 grams of fentanyl, several pills that investigators believe are the synthetic opioid, and a pistol inside his apartment, officials said.

- Distribution of a Class A drug (fentanyl)
- Possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug
- Distribution of a Class B drug (crack)
- Possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug
- Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
- Trafficking in a Class B drug over 200 grams
- Trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl
- Possession of ammo without an FID card
- Resisting arrest
Gonzalez also had an outstanding warrant, but police didn't say what it was for or what jurisdiction it came from.
