Missing Boater Found Dead In Lake Lashway In North Brookfield: Police

A boater who went missing over the weekend was found dead in the waters of Lake Lashway in the North Brookfield area of central Massachusetts, North Brookfield Police said on Facebook.

Stephen Coupe, age 60, was found after several crews responded to a report of a missing boater after his boat washed ashore without him on it around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. Coupe was last seen around 6:30 p.m., they added.

The search turned into a recovery the next day and the Coupe's body was recovered around 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, the department said.

The search was assisted by Massachusetts State Police Airwing and several neighboring police and fire departments.
