An iconic seafood restaurant in Connecticut has officially announced its closing date after being in business for almost 30 years. Chowder Pot of Hartford will be closing for good on Saturday, March 25, the restaurant said in a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 13. This comes after the owners originally revealed that Chowder Pot would be closing on Tuesday, Jan. 3. "It has been bittersweet since announcing our closing," the Chowder Pot wrote on Facebook. Woman Caught Driving Wrong Way In Construction Zone In Region, Police Say
A Connecticut woman was busted allegedly driving drunk or high on drugs in the wrong direction in a construction zone on Route 9. The incident took place in Farmington around 12:40 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 31. According to state police, Mindy Lee Rivera, age 37, of New Britain was arrested after troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 9 South where I-84 East and West merge. A man has been accused of operating a remote-controlled vehicle on a busy roadway in the region. Connecticut State Police troopers in Hartford received multiple reports of a pedestrian operating the remote-controlled car on Route 9 in the New Britain/Berlin area at around 7 a.m. Saturday, July, 16. Trooper Struck By Wrong-Way Driver In Head-On Crash In Region
A Connecticut State Police trooper was struck by a wrong-way driver in a head-on crash overnight. It happened in Middlesex County just after 4 a.m. Saturday, April 16 on southbound Route 9 in the area of Exit 19 in Cromwell. The assigned state police cruiser crashed with the wrong-way vehicle, a 2016 Honda Accord, as it was traveling northbound in the left lane of the southbound side. Woman Killed, Toddlers Hospitalized After Rollover Crash In Region
A woman was killed and two young children were hospitalized after a single-vehicle rollover crash in Connecticut. It happened just before 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10 in Hartford County, in Berlin. A Chrysler Town & Country LX was traveling on Route 9 southbound, just south of Exit 23, in the left lane of two, Connecticut State Police said.
