Leader Of $1M Shoplifting Ring Busted In Massachusetts, State Police Say A months-long investigation led to the arrest of a Massachusetts man for running an alleged large shoplifting enterprise that earned him more than $1 million. The investigation began in February 2020, when Trooper Joseph Hall made a traffic stop in Leominster which resulted in one of the vehicle’s occupants being arrested for outstanding warrants, said the Massachusetts State Police. Drug-laced chocolates designed to look like “Crunch” candy bars were among the pounds upon pounds of narcotics and related items seized during a recent police raid on a suspected trap house. On Wednesday, Feb. 24, members of the North Worcester County Drug Task Force & State Police Gang Unit and local officials executed a search warrant at 1052 Elam Road in Fitchburg, Leominster Police said.
