Two Bodies Found Inside Huntington Home: DA Police found two bodies inside a Huntington home this week.  Gary Rom, 70, and Evelyn Korfias, 59, were found inside the house on 12 Nagler Cross Road on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said on Friday. The medical examiner is attempting to determine the exact cause of death, but, at this point, investigators do not believe it was foul play.  State police detectives are working with Huntington police to investigate the scene.

The Massachusetts State Police and Huntington Police Department are attempting to locate Hampshire County resident Robert Sherman, age 79, of Chesterfield, who last last seen in Hampden County on Monday, Feb. 7 around 9:30 a.m., in Westfield. Strong Gusty Winds Lead To Power Outages In Massachusetts Winds with gusts up to 20 miles per hour have brought down some tree limbs in Massachusetts, causing power outages. Most of the outages are in Western Massachusetts. Just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, Eversource is reporting 473 customers without power, with 465 in Western Mass. A High Wind Warning is in effect until 4 p.m. Monday, March 29. As of around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, utility crews from Eversource were still working to repair dozens of outages that were impacting 2,766 of the company’s 220,386 customers in Western Massachusetts. An additional 71 customers were impacted in Central and Eastern Massachusetts, according to the company. Covid-19: Four 'Red' Western Mass Cities At High Risk, Town-By-Town Trends, Rates Keeping with the trend of declining COVID-19 infections, the Pioneer Valley has only 4 “red” communities - cities and towns with the highest risk of virus transmission. On Thursday, March 4, Massachusetts unveiled its latest weekly update on COVID-19 incidents by the municipality.  Red communities in Western Massachusetts for the week of March 4 are: Chicopee with a rate of 33.4, Hadley, 32 Ludlow, 33.4, and Springfield, 40.3. The COVID-19 infection rates per 100,000 people went down in Worcester, Springfield, Chicopee, Leominster, Fitchburg, Amherst, and Shrewsbury, according to town-level data released by Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health on Thursday, Jan. 21. All of these communities, except for Amherst, are in the “red” - meaning they are at the highest risk for the spread of the virus. Amherst is in the yellow category.
