Covid-19: County In Western Mass Elevated To 'Substantial' Risk For Spread, CDC Says The last remaining county in Massachusetts has been upgraded from “moderate” to “substantial” risk for COVID-19 transmission as the country contends with the now-dominant Delta variant of the virus. In its latest update, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) upgraded Hampshire County to “substantial,” after being previously dubbed a “moderate” risk for spreading infection.
