He chose to take the lump sum payment of $3.25 million rather than the annuity.  Burgess bought the ticket at Price Chopper's Market 32 at 555 Hubbard Ave. in Pittsfield. The store will get a $50,000 bonus for the sale.

Chicopee Woman ID'd As Victim In Fatal CT Hit-Run Crash A 40-year-old Hampden County woman was identified as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash Wednesday night, June 19, in Hartford. The car that hit her was later found abandoned and on fire.  Lutricia Daniels, of Chicopee, was walking along Main Street at 11:55 p.m. when a Honda Accord slammed into her and sped away, Hartford police said. Canister Explodes In Car Trunk, Sends 1 To Hospital In Central Mass With Serious Injuries A man was rushed to the hospital on Saturday morning, June 1, after a canister of acetylene exploded in a car trunk at a home in Worcester County, authorities said.  The explosion was reported at 216 Brattle Street in Holden Saturday morning after the tank blew. He didn't specify what kind.  He bought the ticket at Pride Station & Store at 13 N. Main St. in East Longmeadow. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

Teen Seriously Injured In Moped, Car Crash In Springfield; Driver Also Wounded A 17-year-old girl was rushed to a Hampden County hospital Thursday afternoon, June 22, after her moped collided with a car, authorities said. Police have not said who was at fault. The crash happened in the area of Hancock and Florence Streets just before 3:30 p.m., Springfield police said. When officers arrived, they found the girl with serious injuries.  Paramedics rushed her to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.
