Jimall "Progress Lu" Dawn Brown, age 33, of Dorchester, used social media to bring the teen to Boston from another state and pawn her off to have sex with men. Upon her arrival, Brown brought the teen to a hotel and posted sex trafficking ads online, the office said.

As a result, Brown acquired thousands of dollars in profits from sex trafficking the victim over several months. He also allegedly beat her on multiple occasions, the office added.

“The facts of this case are deeply disturbing," District Attorney Kevin Hayden said. "My office and our partners in law enforcement and victim services treat these allegations with the seriousness they deserve, and we are available to provide victim-centered services and supports the survivors of human trafficking."

Brown is charged with trafficking a person under 18 for sexual servitude and assault and battery on a household family member, the office reports.

In addition, the office encourages anyone with information on or concerns about human trafficking to call the Polaris Project’s national human trafficking resource center hotline at 888-373-7888 or send a text to “BeFree” (233733).
