Charles Moran Claimed 'Lion's Share' In New Lottery Game

It must feel like a dream when you scratch off a $1 million prize on a Massachusetts State Lottery ticket. One Winthrop man knows that feeling, and he's not ready to wake up. That's why he's shopping for his dream car and planning to take his dream vacation with his newfound windfall.

Charles Moran won the prize playing the lottery's new "$4,000,000 Lion’s Share" game. The $10 scratch-off ticket launched on April 16. a

Moran chose to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity. 

He said he is considering buying a car and taking a well-earned vacation with the winnings. 

Moran bought the winning ticket in East Boston at Bell Isle Wine and Spirits at 1114 Saratoga St. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
