'To Know Her Is To Love Her': Community Rallies Around Malden Woman With Stage 4 Brain Cancer Friends of a lifelong Malden resident recently diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer say they hope a fundraiser will help ease some of her heavy burdens as she prepares for the fight of her life.  Kathy Mestas, who attended Emerson Elementary, Beebe Jr. High, and graduated from Malden High School, according to a GoFundMe recently created for her, was told she had Astrocytoma about two months ago. Malden DJ, Veteran, Dad Dies At 56, Community Pours Out Support For Grieving Family A man who was "put on this planet to make people laugh and dance" died unexpectedly, but his community is coming together to support his daughter and family.  Paul Brant, of Malden, died on Saturday, June 3 at age 56, leaving behind a loving network of friends and family, including his daughter, Emilie, according to a GoFundMe created for his funeral expenses.  Brant graduated from Malden High School in 1985.  After school, he joined the Army National Guard and was called to serve in Operation Desert Storm, according to a memorial Facebook post.  The veteran coached wrestling at Malden Hi…
