Over $250K Raised For Families Of Deputy, Cop Killed In Shootout On Quiet Suburban NY Street
More than a quarter of a million dollars has been raised to support the families of a police officer and sheriff's deputy killed in a shootout with a suspect who also died on a quiet suburban street in upstate New York earlier this week.
The two officers were Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Hoosock, age 37, and Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen, age 29.
Hoosock is survived by his wife, Caitlin, and their three young children, ages 7, 5, and 3.

A jury convicted a former MBTA transit police officer on Friday, March 15, of raping two women more than a decade ago, authorities said.
Shawn McCarthy, 50, who lived in Wilmington at the time of the rapes, will be sentenced on three counts of rape stemming from an incident in 2012, the Suffolk County District Attorney said.

A police officer had his badge and gun revoked after getting arrested for throwing his pregnant wife to the ground, officials say.
Steven Stalzer, an Acton police officer, and veteran, was placed on paid administrative leave after getting arrested in Stow on Saturday, April 29, according to a statement by Acton Interim Police Chief James Cogan.

The Stoughton Police Department is mourning the sudden death of one of their brothers in blue, Chief Donna McNamara announced.
