A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for the region as a potent system packed with drenching downpours and damaging winds will sweep through the Northeast ahead of a cold front. A powerful storm system that swept through the region has now pushed off the coast, leading to a dry and pleasant Father's Day weekend before the first potential heat wave of the year.
