26-Year-Old Lawrence Man Killed In Route 495 Crash In Westford A 26-year-old Massachusetts man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Route 495. The crash occurred in Middlesex County around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, at mile marker 84 in Westford. According to Dave Procopio of the Massachusetts State Police, the crash involved a tractor-trailer that had struck and overrode a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.  Westford Fire and EMS arrived on-scene and first responders began attempting to extricate the driver of the Tacoma,  The driver, a 26-year-old Essex County resident from Lawrence, was pronounced dead on the scene, Procopio said. Hikers Launch Fundraiser For Westford Native Who Died Climbing NH Mountain Emily Sotelo was determined to climb all of New Hampshire's 48 mountains over 4,000 feet tall before her 20th birthday. The Westford, Massachusetts, native had topped 40 of them and wanted to finish the others while on Thanksgiving break from Vanderbilt University.  Unfortunately, Sotelo disappeared while hiking up Mount Lafayette on Nov. 20, 2022. Searchers found her body was found three days later, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
