Teen Seriously Injured At College In Region After Being Pinned By Vehicle A 16-year-old was seriously injured during an accident outside of a University of Connecticut building while helping a student move in. The incident took place in Tolland County in Storrs around 10 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 27 on the UConn campus. Emergency personnel were called to the North Residence Halls complex on a report of a person struck by a vehicle, said Stephanie Reitz, a UConn spokesperson. The incident took place in Tolland County around 1 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 in Willington on Cisar Road. Covid-19: Police Break Up Large Party Near UConn Campus State Police broke up a large party that was held overnight near the UConn campus in Storrs in violation of COVID-19 pandemic guidelines. Just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, troopers responded to 160 Birch Road in Mansfield for a complaint of a large, loud party. Upon arrival, the troopers witnessed the disturbance and observed numerous college-aged students inside the residence. Man Found Sleeping In Stolen UConn Van Is Arrested A man who police discovered sleeping in a stolen vehicle has been arrested. Josue Pinto, 39, of New Britain, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 28, at around 10 a.m., and charged with larceny in the second degree, police said. South Windsor Police were alerted to Pinto when they received a report of “suspicious circumstances” at a construction site: a man sleeping in a blue Dodge with “UConn” on the side, police said. When police arrived on the scene they found Pinto who allegedly admitted to entering a UConn office on the Storrs campus, taking a set of keys, and stealing a van, police said.

On Friday, Sept. 18, Hartford Police said they have recovered another five stolen vehicles and one stolen firearm. The recovered cars are from Simsbury Storrs Berlin West Hartford Longmeadow, MA. The gun was stolen from Glastonbury, police said. All of the cars that were stolen were taken with the key fob left inside, police said.
