High School Senior Was Victim Of Fatal Single-Car Crash On Holyoke-Southampton Line A high school student who died in a car crash in late-February is being remembered by the community as a passionate student with a strong work ethic and a great friend. Markiyan “Mark” Yuzych, 18, of West Springfield, died on Feb. 28 when, around 10:30 p.m., the vehicle he was driving crashed into a utility pole on County Road near the Holyoke-Southampton border. When emergency responders arrived on the scene, the car was fully engulfed in flames, WWLP reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
