Shelter-In-Place Order Given For Parts Of Chicopee The Chicopee Police have ordered the evacuation of homes and issued a stay-in-place order for others as the department prepares to dispose of recently discovered “energetic materials.” The orders are to be observed Friday, Sept. 25, 7-10 p.m., police said. Police discovered the energetic materials on Thursday, Sept. 24 on Summer Street and will dispose of them in a controlled burn tonight, police said. “You may hear a loud noise, which may also be associated with this event,” police said. “The situation should be resolved by the end of the night."  Nearby homes on Summer Street have …
