He was missing for more than eight hours on a frighteningly cold day. The detour is necessary, state officials said, to allow for the construction of a new $8 million roundabout, traffic lights and pedestrian crossing at the Damon Road-Route 9 intersection in Northampton. The detour is set to being July 20 and could last 14-21 days, according to The Daily Hampshire Gazette. Once in place, there will be no going straight onto Damon Road.
