22-Year-Old From Holyoke Faces Reckless Driving, Other Charges In Connection To Fatal Crash
A 22-year-old from the region was arrested for reckless driving and other charges in connection to a fatal crash that killed a 58-year-old man.
The crash took place in Litchfield County on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, on Route 44, in the town of North Canaan.
According to Connecticut State Police, a Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Essex County resident Carl Blair, age 58, of Danvers, Massachusetts, was traveling on Route 44, when his vehicle was hit by a Fed-Ex Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, driven by Hampden County resident Jarad Seery, age 22, of Holyoke, Massachusetts.

Jahbez Copeland, age 23, of South Windsor, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 26, by Hartford Police for the crash which took place on Saturday, Jan. 1 in the area of Main and Battles Street.

A trooper saw a Dodge Sprinter van pass his unmarked cruiser at a high rate of speed on I-91 northbound in Hartford at about 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, Connecticut State Police said.

Man Nabbed For DUI After Crash In Hartford
A driver who caused a four-car crash in Connecticut was allegedly under the influence when he struck a guardrail, leading to the chain reaction, State Police said.
Police said that Lavar Tracdin Funnye, age 33, was driving on the right shoulder of I-91 South near exit 32 in Hartford at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 when he veered into the lanes of traffic.
Funnye, a Hartford resident, failed to stay in his lane, struck a metal beam guardrail in the right shoulder, spinning out into the right lane, where he was rear-ended by an Audi A5, which struck two other drivers on I-91.

Burglary Suspect From Hampden County Caught After Fleeing, Police Say
Police apprehended a Massachusetts man wanted for burglarizing an occupied Connecticut home before fleeing at a high rate of speed.
Michael Mesick, age 31, of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, in Hampden County, was arrested around noon Monday, June 14, after the homeowner interrupted an active burglary in his home in Windsor Locks.
After being caught in the home, and as Windsor Locks police converged on the area, Mesick fled, traveling at a high rate of speed making it impossible for a pursuit, said the Windsor Locks Police.

A man who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for manslaughter was recently nabbed by the police as he allegedly attempted to flee a domestic violence incident.
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, at around 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a violent domestic disturbance on Taylor Street in Manchester. A female victim said that she had been strangled, assaulted, and threatened by her ex-boyfriend Stephen Soboleski, Manchester Police said.
Soboleski, 30, of Naugatuck, had allegedly fled the scene in a motor vehicle before police arrived, but was soon spotted on Taylor Street, police said.
