Worker Trapped After Porch Collapses In Western Mass A construction worker received non-life-threatening injuries after being trapped during a partial structural collapse. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 2, at 783 Belmont Ave., when structural supports for the porch roof failed, trapping one worker, said the Springfield Fire and Emergency Management.  The man was extricated by the Springfield Fire Department and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.
