Young Son Of Holyoke Officer Crystal Conroy Battles Cancer A Massachusetts community has come together to raise tens of thousands of dollars to go toward helping a police officer's brave 11-month-old son fight a tough battle against cancer. The outpouring of support began after Hampden County police officer Crystal Conroy, a member of the Holyoke Police Department, learned her 11-month-old son Ashton has leukemia.  After the harrowing diagnosis was made, Conroy was forced to leave work for the foreseeable future to take care of Ashton as he fights the disease.
