The fire was first reported at 318 Princeton Street just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, according to a Tweet from Boston Area Public Safety Alerts (@BostonAreaAlert)
Crews were seen on the roof of the three-story building battling heavy smoke conditions. The fire eventually burned through the back porches and each collapsed, Boston Fire said.
An initial search of the three-story building showed all occupants were out of the house, Boston Fire said.
Crews were also taking breaks to regroup as the extreme heat conditions posed a significant challenge. Several firefighters were evaluated at the scene but were not taken to local hospitals, Boston Fire said.
Mutual aid from surrounding departments were called to the scene as well. In total, four homes were said to be damaged.
No other information was immediately released.
