On 11:15 p.m. on March 27, Cobb was killed in a car fire near the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and Duncannon Road in Waldorf, leaving his family reeling from the unexpected loss.

"On a fateful day not long ago, our family's world was shattered when JaJuan was involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident that claimed his young life too soon," his aunt said. "The pain of this loss is immeasurable, and the void he has left in our hearts is profound."

According to the investigators, the Accokeek resident was a passenger in a car that was heading south on St. Charles Parkway when the driver lost control, went off road, struck a tree, and caught fire.

The driver and a second passenger were able to safely get out; however, Cobb was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

The 22-year-old was remembered as "a bright and caring soul with a zest for life that was infectious to everyone around him" who had big dreams he never got the chance to fulfill.

"His smile could light up a room, and his compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew him," organizers of a GoFundMe campaign wrote.

"He had dreams and aspirations that he was working hard to achieve, and it breaks our hearts to know that those dreams will never come to fruition."

Following the fateful crash, his friends, neighbors, and well-wishers have rallied the support of the community on behalf of Cobb's family, raising thousands of dollars in the days following his death.

"In the wake of this tragedy, our family is faced with emotional and financial burdens that we never could have imagined," they added. "The costs associated with laying JaJuan to rest and providing support for his immediate family in this difficult time are overwhelming.

"As we navigate this grief-stricken journey, we are reaching out to our community for support."
