It happened on the outer loop in Prince George’s County around 2:30 a.m.
The woman saw a dark passenger vehicle following her while she was driving on Route 1 near Ikea Way.
The suspect vehicle then struck the woman’s vehicle as they entered the outer loop of Route 495 from Route 1, state police said.
According to investigators, the suspect vehicle tried to run the victim’s vehicle off the road before she pulled over in the area of Route 495 and Riggs Road.
Several people exited the suspect vehicle, approached the woman and robbed and assaulted her at gunpoint before fleeing, state police said.
Investigators believe the woman may have been specifically targeted.
The investigation is being led by the Criminal Enforcement Division – Southern Region. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack at 301-345-3101.
