Seven Of Eight Puppies Taken From Stolen Southeast DC Car Recovered, Police Say Members of the Metropolitan Police Department announced that seven of eight puppies that were taken inside a stolen car on Saturday afternoon in Southeast DC have been recovered. Shortly before 1 p.m. on Jan. 6, police say that a driver left their vehicle running and unlocked in the 1700 block of U Street SE when a suspect walked in and fled with eight 5-week-old puppies inside. She had been loading the dogs into her vehicle when she went inside, but when she returned, the vehicle was no longer in the alleyway, according to the police report. Six Puppies Kidnapped From Mom In DC, Reward Offered The Humane Rescue Alliance in D.C. has offered a reward of $7,500 in the hopes of finding six stolen puppies, sources said. On September 14, the HRA announced that multiple now five-week-old puppies were kidnapped and stripped from their mother when they were just three weeks old. These puppies are supposed to remain with their mother, Godiva, and littermates until eight to 10 weeks old, the HRA said.
