Woman Killed, Man Injured In Montgomery County 2-Car Crash: Police

A 77-year-old woman from Montgomery County was killed and a man taken to the hospital following a two-car crash Monday afternoon, March 11, police said.

It happened at the intersection of Layhill Road and Bel Pre Road shortly before 2:35 p.m.

Maria Perdomo, of Silver Spring, was making a left turn from northbound Layhill Road onto westbound Bel Pre Road in a red 2013 Subaru Outback when she collided with a black 2019 Tesla Model Y that was heading southbound on Layhill Road.

Perdomo was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man driving the Tesla was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by CRU detectives. Anyone with information is asked to call 240-773-6620.
