A death investigation has been launched after a 79-year-old man died at the hospital days after being involved in a crash in Montgomery County. A garbage truck driver was killed after being struck by another man while on the job in Northern Maryland, state police say. Jose Gomes, 55, of Hagerstown, died at Frederick Health Hospital after he was struck by Oxon Hill resident Osman Perez Mollo's Subaru while he was picking up garbage cans on Green Valley Road in Clarksburg early on Wednesday morning. An elderly pair from Maryland was killed in a crash Tuesday evening, June 13 in Highland Park, authorities said. A Mercedes driven by Abeer Viriani, 34, of Iselin, struck a Subaru occupied by Peter Palmer, 75, of Easton, MD, and Carol Paul, 77, of Easton, MD, around 5:30 p.m. at Route 27 and North 10 Street, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
