Authorities ID Possible Cause Of Silver Spring Fire That Hospitalized 14 The cause of a Silver Spring fire that injured more than a dozen people, including one child, on Thursday, March 3 is still under investigation, but officials say it may be linked to a maintenance worker. During a press conference on Friday, March 4, Montgomery Fire Chief Scott Goldstein said 14 people had been taken to the hospital as a result of the fire that engulfed a four-story unit at the Friendly Garden Apartment complex in Silver Spring.  Three of those individuals were listed as being in critical condition while the remaining 11 were said to have minor or injuries.    Montgome…
