Chang Liu, Yinlian Wu Arrested For Illicit Massage Parlors
An investigation into sex trafficking in Maryland led to the arrest of two women accused of operating illegal illicit massage parlors throughout the region, the Montgomery County Department of Police announced on Tuesday.
Columbia resident Chang Liu, 34, and Yinlian Wu, 50, of Philadelphia, have both been arrested and charged with prostitution-related offenses that allegedly took place at massage parlors in the City of Laurel, and Montgomery and Ann Arundel counties owned by Liu that offered sex acts in exchange for cash, according to police, who launched a six-month joint investigation.

A Montgomery County man involved in a deadly head-on crash in Fall 2022 was indicted by a grand jury on charges alleging that he was distracted and had an expired permit at the time of the collision, police said Tuesday, March 19.
Kelvy Jose, Jr., 22, of Kensington, was arrested on Friday, March 15, on a warrant charging him with criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle, according to the MCPD.
Jose, Jr. was involved in a collision at the intersection of Randolph Road and Hammonton Place in Silver Spring on Oct. 12, 2022.

Bethesda Woman Arrested For Robbery, Assault On Metro Bus In Montgomery County, Police Say
A woman arrested for a robbery and assault on a metro bus in Maryland fought with officers taking her into custody, police said.
Crystal McArthur, 37, is accused of assaulting a woman and stealing her phone “for no apparent reason” while riding a Metro bus near the 7600 block of Wisconsin Ave. in Gaithersburg around 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, according to Montgomery County Police.
McArthur, of Bethesda, then got off the bus and walked away toward Old Georgetown Road, while the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A quick-thinking woman was able to keep herself safe and alert police in Montgomery County while a burglar was roaming through her home.
Walter Lee Wright, 67, has been arrested and charged for an alleged burglary that was reported last week in the 4500 block of Dorset Avenue in Somerset that quickly went awry, police say.
The preliminary investigation by detectives determined that the victim called police, while locked in her bathroom, as Wright was walking through her home.

Homeless Armed Robbers Targeted MD 7-Eleven Stores During Short-Lived Crime Spree, Police Say
Two people have been arrested for a pair of recent armed robberies in Maryland, authorities announced.
Stephen Lavance Oates, Jr., 35, and Katrice Ceclia Wood, 29, were arrested and charged for robberies committed Monday, Jan. 8 and Wednesday, Jan. 10, Montgomery County Police said.
Oates, Jr. and Wood, who have no permanent addresses, were donning masks when they entered the 7-Eleven on the 14100 block of Georgia Avenue around 2:50 a.m. Jan. 8 and demanded the workers not to move.
