Police Probe Threat At Lakeland Parks Middle School (Developing)

UPDATE: The shelter-in-place order was lifted shortly before 12 p.m., police said. No threat was detected.

A Montgomery County middle school entered a shelter-in-place order as police investigated a threat early Friday morning, March 15.

Lakelands Park Middle School on Main Street in Gaithersburg was ordered to shelter-in-place as police responded shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Investigators added that they did not believe the threat to be credible and that the order was put in place "out of an abundance of caution."
