A suspect has been charged with fatally shooting a 43-year-old man near an apartment complex in Adelphi last week. Jamar Welch Sr., 36, of Takoma Park, was charged with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses, PGPD said Tuesday, April 2. He is accused of shooting Charles Dent of Hyattsville during an argument near the 1800 block of Metzerott Road in Adelphi around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. A 25-year-old man has been accused of committing patricide after his father was found dead in Montgomery County, police say. Nicholas Marquis Stull has been charged for allegedly shooting and killing 53-year-old Michael Wayne Stull on Saturday night before turning the gun on himself in a failed attempt to take his own life. A 38-year-old Maryland man has been accused of killing a toddler in his care earlier this year. The Prince George's County Police Department announced on Wednesday afternoon that District Heights resident Kevin Robinson has been accused of killing 2-year-old Nychelle Pettus, the daughter of his girlfriend who all shared the same home. A man who opened fire at a woman inside a Maryland motel will spend decades in prison following his sentencing, the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office announced. Laurel resident Christopher Shan Mason, 47, was sentenced to 37 years in prison on Friday, Sept. 23, after being found guilty of attempted second-degree murder, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, and illegal possession of a firearm by a Howard County jury over the summer. Three Repeat Offenders Arrested In Murder Of Baltimore Man
Three people including some violent offenders have been arrested in connection to a homicide that happened earlier this year, authorities said. Ronnie Harris Jr., 38, Janay Barksdale, 33, and Morgan Reed, 40 have all been arrested in connection to the murder of 31-year-old James Moore. Both Barksdale and Reed are repeat offenders and Harris is a repeat violent offender.
