One person was killed in a triple shooting on Monday night in Columbia, the Howard County Police Department announced. Shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, officers were called to the 6000 block of Foreland Garth after hearing gunshots ring out near the Exxon gas station. The driver of a pick-up truck who set off a fatal three-vehicle crash in Howard County was allegedly under the influence when he lost control, police say. Columbia resident Rikelmy E. Beltran-Menjivar, 20, walked away uninjured from a crash that took the life of 68-year-old Karen Johnson Battle, also of Columbia, on Monday, June 12, and left two others hospitalized, according to the Howard County Police Department. Deale Driver Killed In Exit Ramp Crash May Have Had Medical Emergency, Police Say
Howard County Police have identified the Deale man killed in a single-vehicle crash over the weekend. Victor Michael Collier, 44, was pronounced dead at the Howard County General Hospital after crashing off of an exit ramp off Route 100 on Sunday, March 26, according to Howard County police. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m. after it was reported that Collier had run off the roadway and struck several trees near the exit ramp to Route 104. Authorities say that a toddler was killed and six others were injured when a truck rear-ended a car that set off a chain collision crash in Maryland. One person was killed and several other were injured in a collision in Ellicott City over the weekend, authorities say. Jung Eun Yi, 50, was killed after a wrong-way driver traveling east in the westbound lane of Rogers Avenue struck the vehicle she was traveling in around 11:44 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, according to Howard County police. Troopers from the Waterloo Barrack were called shortly before 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 to a stretch of I-95 near Route 32 for a reported multi-vehicle crash. Police Search For Suspect Vehicle After Hit And Run Kills Pedestrian
Police are investigating a hit and run that killed a pedestrian overnight in Laurel, authorities say. The victim was reportedly struck by a Ford Explorer in the 9600 block of Washington Boulevard around 10:45 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, according to Howard County police. The man was rushed to the Howard County General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Washington Boulevard was closed in both directions for approximately two and a half hours. Jessup Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash, Police Say
A Jessup man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and running off the roadway in Howard County, authorities say. Ivan Claude Merrill Jr., 59, reportedly lost control of the vehicle on Route 1 near Route 32, landing in a wooded drainage area around 10:41 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29, according to Howard County police. Alert Issued For Missing 38-Year-Old Woman Last Seen At Maryland Hospital
Have you seen her? Police agencies in Maryland are sounding the alarms as they seek the public’s assistance in tracking down a 38-year-old woman who hasn’t been seen in more than a week. An alert was issued by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office for Kristin Berger, who was last seen on Monday, Aug. 15 at the Howard County General Hospital. Berger was described as being 5-foot-8, weighing an estimated 150 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. It is unknown what she was last wearing. Two people were hospitalized in a shooting in Howard County. Police found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound on the 5300 block of Village Center Drive in Wilde Lake Village Center around 3:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, Howard County police said. Silver Spring Driver, 27, Killed In Laurel Crash
A 27-year-old driver died in a Howard County crash Thursday, authorities said. Rony Sibrian was behind the wheel of a 2002 Toyota Avalon heading south on Route 29 when he left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned around 5:05 p.m. in Laurel, county police said. Sibrian, of Silver Spring, was rushed to Howard County General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The crash occurred near Route 216, and a portion of Route 29 south was closed for 2.5 hours. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
