Man Shot Outside Elkridge Bar: Police Police are investigating after a man was shot outside a Howard County bar. The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday, March 1 near the 7500 block of Washington Boulevard outside the Triple Nines Bar and Billiards in Elkridge, Howard County Police said. The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and is in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing. No further details were released. Drinking Water Outages Reported Across Howard County Many Howard County residents were without drinking water Sunday, Aug. 20, officials said. The county's Department of Public Works (DPW) responded to reports of drinking water service outages in Elkridge, later identifying a rupture of a 36-inch drinking water main coming from the Elkridge Pumping Station, police said. Marval Iran Polk Jr., 20, was killed while riding a motorcycle after colliding with a 2013 Honda Accord around 9:50 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, according to Howard County police. Polk Jr. reportedly collided with the Honda while it was making a left turn at Port Capital Drive on Route 1.  The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Route 1 in the area of Port Capital Drive was closed for approximately three hours.

Matthew Diehl, of Elkridge, was behind the wheel of a 2021 Toyota Corolla when he struck the trailer on the southbound side of Route 1 at Blue Stream Drive around 2 a.m., county police said.
