Support Swells For Grandmother Who Lost Everything In Two-Alarm Joppatowne Townhouse Fire
Friends and family of a church-going woman and her 20-year-old grandchild are rallying the community after the two lost everything in the Joppatowne townhouse fire earlier this month. On Monday, Feb. 5, a two-alarm fire broke out in the 600 block of Shore Drive in Harford County displacing a family and damaging two other neighboring homes. All residents were able to escape safely, though several pets perished, and while uninjured, Shelbie LeBeau and her 20-year-old grandchild lost their home and all of their belongings, according to a friend who is rallying support from the community. …

Townhouses Torched By Two-Alarm Fire In Harford County
All hands were on deck on Monday when a fast-moving fire rapidly spread to several residences when a townhouse blaze broke out, officials say. Firefighters from several agencies in northern Maryland on Feb. 5, when a two-alarm fire was reported in the 600 block of Shore Drive in Joppa that displaced two residents. According to officials, upon arrival, crews from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company found three townhouses involved in the fire, though no injuries were reported and all residents were able to escape safely. Joppatowne Murder-Suicide Victims Mourned
Support was mounting for three family members killed in a quadruple murder-suicide last weekend in Harford County. Sherlyn Ann Pitts, 65; her niece, Sheena Yvonne Smothers, 38; and Sheena's 17-year-old son, Jaylin, died on Saturday, Aug. 26 in Joppatowne. Police say 34-year-old Devin Brown shot them on Trimble Road, then turned the gun on himself. Sherlyn was his mother. A GoFundMe page for the family says Sherlyn was the oldest of six siblings, and "was soon about to retire from a job where she was cherished, loved and admired for her positive and comforting attitude.…

An apparent murder-suicide is under investigation in Maryland after four people were found dead over the weekend. Shortly after 11:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, Aug. 26, deputies from the sheriff’s office were called to the 300 block of Trimble Road in Joppatowne (Harford County) to investigate what they thought initially was an active shooter situation, the sheriff's office said. New details have been released by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office following a fatal shooting that left four people dead in a Joppatowne apartment. Sprinklers Help Contain Fire At Joppatowne HS; Students, Staff Evacuated
Fire sprinklers came to the rescue of a Harford high school when a blaze broke out on Tuesday afternoon before dismissal. Crews from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were called to Joppatowne High School at approxiamtely 2 p.m. on Tuesdayay 16, where students and staff evacuated after a fire was reported, sending smoke through parts of the building. Officials said that fire sprinklers knocked down most of the flames, and responding firefighters were able to finish the job and begin ventilating the building of the smoke. Fatal Crash Closes Pulaski Highway In Joppa
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car New Year's Day closing the Pulaski Highway in Joppatowne. The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on the westbound side near Joppa Road, firefighters said. Three other patients were hospitalized for treatment. It was not clear if they were pedestrians or vehicle occupants. No further information was provided.

Man, Dog Suffer Serious Burns In Harford County Trailer Fire
A man and dog both suffered critical injuries in Maryland when a trailer parked at a Harford County business went up in flames on Tuesday night. At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, a passerby reported to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company that there was a massive blaze that broke out on the property of B&T Services on Pulaski Highway in Joppatowne.
